Curating Wedding Return Favours: A Guide for Event Planners

Here’s a quick guide to help you design and curate the perfect wedding return favors for your clients.

Wedding return favours are more than just a tradition; they are a way for couples to thank their guests and share a piece of their special day. Thoughtful, stylish wedding favours can leave a last impression on guests and create a memorable and personalised experience for them.

At TREY, we design and curate the favours with lot of creativity and love to make the wedding day memorable for everyone !!

Here's a quick guide for curating the perfect wedding return favours-

1. Understand Your Client's Vision

Before diving into the details, it is a good idea to have a good discussion with your clients about their wedding theme, colour palette, and personal preferences. After all, it's a very special day for the family ! Clients may have specific ideas for the return favours. Know more about the bride and groom, their story. If possible, try to know more about their guests too.  This helps in creating a cohesive and personalised favour that aligns with the overall wedding theme.

2. Set a Budget

Determine a budget for the wedding favours. This will help you narrow down options and ensure that the favours are both cost-effective and high-quality. Remember, thoughtful and well-presented favours can be impressive without being overly expensive.

3. Choose Practical and Memorable Items

Opt for favours that guests will find useful and memorable. Some popular choices include:

  • Edible Treats: Customised cookies, gourmet chocolates, or local delicacies.
  • Miniature Bottles: Personalised mini bottles of wine, olive oil, or homemade jam.
  • Personalised Keepsakes: Home decor, coasters with the couple’s names and wedding date.
While deciding on the type, keep in mind the timeline and logistic part, specially for the perishable and fragile items.

    4. Personalisation is Key

Adding a personal touch can make the favours more meaningful. Customise the items with the couple's names, wedding date, or a heartfelt message. Personalised packaging, such as custom labels, tags, or ribbons, can elevate the presentation and make the favour feel special.

    5. Packaging Matters

The packaging should be as thoughtful as the gift itself. Consider the wedding theme and colours when designing the packaging. Use elegant boxes, rustic burlap bags, or chic pouches that complement the wedding’s aesthetic. Adding a thank-you note or a small tag with a message from the couple can add a special touch.

Recently, we had a wonderful experience designing and creating the wedding return favour for Praful and Deepa. This was a two month long project with multiple rounds of discussions, embroidery design approval, fabric marketing. The hand embroidery and stitching took quite some.
